Australia 2003
It is Nov. 20 and just a bit more than a week before our departure. We have just returned from the big ARVC convention; the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds in Las Vegas.
While there and just following a seminar we presented which included our gloating about this upcoming trip, we had the unexpected pleasure of meeting a “parkie” (park owner) from Australia! Ashley Beadel from the North Star Holiday Resort at Hastings Point NSW was in our seminar! How exciting could it get?
It is with pleasure that we let you know that this resort on the Tweed Coast is being added to our list of “must sees!” Stay in touch…we will be sharing all of the details.
We are almost packed; passports and etas are in order and the excitement is almost unbearable! We are taking a 6 or more cameras and laptops so will be well prepared to keep you right at our side.

We are traveling this time on British Airlines- reservations and seating was done in May. We will fly from Port Angeles, WA to Seattle; Seattle to London and London to Sydney. We will arrive at 6:35 am on Dec. 3. We have found that with groups of more than 2 and if you wish to sit together or have solid seat preference, the earlier to book, the better. Just buying tickets does not confirm a seat. Seat assignments are a separate process.
Since we will be in Sydney, Australia’s largest city at the peak season, we have made our hotel reservations for that area as of May at the Travelodge Phillip Street, Sydney, NSW. Our stay in Sydney will be through the 9th which, we hope will allow us time to see the highpoints we have planned.
On Dec 9th, we have scheduled to pick up two motorhomes from NQ Rentals. We have discovered from our previous trips that this is a great way to see the countryside and everything in between. Our accommodations will each comfortably sleep two and still have room for luggage!
We have spent time together in selecting attractions that we think will be of the most interest to you. It is wise to keep a folder of all concrete plans including name, address and phone number.
Make sure all travel documents are in order and current. Replacement or new passports can take time.
Packing takes planning. Since it will be Summer in December we will keep our summer clothes out to take with us. We will each plan around a basic color and consider appropriate clothing for a variety of activity.
