Welcome to Traveling Series ???

The Traveling Series offers exciting resources for your specific interests in travel planning. There are several more on the way but if there is something specific that you would like to see, let us know.

  • Traveling With Horses is a resource for our many guests that have asked us about Equestrian facilities. Plan your travel to a dude ranch, horseback riding and places to camp or travel with your own horse.
  • Travel 2 Paddle. For those who have been asking us for places to rent a canoe, kayak, raft or tube and for lodging that spans from camping to cabins and motel rooms, you now have a resource which will answer those questions and will show you where the rivers are located.
  • Kids Travel Fun hosted by Miles, the Traveling Mouse has a whole website for the younger traveler with special ideas for the grownups to get activities to help pass the time between, "Are we there yet" and "How much longer?"
  • Chuckwagon Diner is a great resource for menu planning either in an RV or at the campfire.
  • Groups, Rallies and Reunions, "GRR" will help take the growl out of the massive process of organizing a big event.
  • Traveling Bikers is your one-stop resource for finding information on motorcycle friendly accommodations, attractions, events, rallies, forums and much more!

American Perspective
Australia 2005

Lynn & Louise Rogers

Louise & Lynn

The Traveling Series writers will be headed “DownUnder” once again….this time leaving in December 2005 and headed to Perth in Western Australia. Travel will be by campervan. We will spend 3 weeks in Perth and then travel to Sydney in time to see the New Year’s Eve celebration!

Our travel mates are Steve and Chris Hennings, former campground owners from Denver, Colorado. Steve’s wealth of knowledge in the RV industry has led him to Campground Brokers where he now assists others in their dream of owning a haven for travelers just like us. He knows what travelers want and he guides new owners to meet our expectations! This will be their first trip to Australia and they hope to learn new ideas to share with you when they return.

As always, we are looking for suggestions from “those in the know” regarding Perth, and areas within a 200 mile radius. As the days progress, we will share the details from our travels so those who are looking to plan a similar trip may have easy access to our specialized comments. Previous travelogues have been so well received and we are eager to share details of this trip as well.

Let us hear from you…plans are definitely underway...More...

Steve & Chris

Australia, this is a name that seems to bring comments from every person we talk to. Most say, "We want to go there some day", and then they tell us about someone they know who has been there. We are Steve and Chris Hennings and we have said the same thing.

Random Acts of Travel Kindness

If you have been a recipient or if you have an idea to perpetuate, post it here. One good thought leads to another and we can't have too many of those!

When approaching a toll station at a bridge a few years ago, the clerk told me, "The car before you said to tell you to have a nice day and he has paid your fare." Ever since that time, I have made a point of doing the same thing for others. The extra 50 cents always buys me a good feeling and provides the hope that they may do the same for someone else!

I try to carry a package of sugar free bubble gum when I fly. It is great to relieve and entertain a distressed youngster who finds his ears hurting from pressure. I do get the parents permission first.

When I see a vehicle pull in to a parking spot beside me with an out of state license plate and travel maps in the front dash, I always smile and say, "Welcome to our town!" It is my part of community hospitality. We can't let southerners have all the fun ;-)

Hold the elevator for someone who appears to be headed in that direction.
